On
February 24, the Student Council went on an excursion to The Brisbane
Exhibition and Convention Centre. There were a total of five speakers, The
Honourable Governor-General David Hurley; musician and children’s book writer
Josh Pyke; 2x Australian Memory Champion Anastasia Woolmer; retired Broncos and
State of Origin player Darius Boy; and the youngest person to fly solo around
the world Lachie Smart. They each came to the stage to talk about how they were
a leader in different situations. We had lots of fun listening and seeing how
they were a leader. Isabella said that she loved learning the fun little dances
throughout the day. Overall the day was an awesome experience and gave us
insight into what it takes to be a leader. A special thanks to Ms Daday and Mrs
Tanner for bringing us to the Halogen Young Leaders Day.
