National Reconciliation week 2019 runs from 27th May to 3rd June. The theme this year is ‘Grounded in truth, walk together
with courage’. Reconciliation week is about strengthening relationships between
the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and non-Indigenous peoples,
for the benefit of all Australians. It’s not about a single moment in time.
Rather, a lot of small steps in the right direction to ensure that Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islanders histories, cultures and rights are a valued and
recognized part of a shared national identity. Stepping forward towards
understanding, respect and National unity.
