Class 3A students
have recently been reading Roald Dahl’s book, George’s Marvellous Medicine, as
part of our English unit. They have focused on learning about procedural texts
and experimented with writing instructions as part of their learning. The class
created a joint construction of George’s recipe from the book and created
several versions of the recipe in order to improve the text with the goal to
‘Bump Up!’ the students’ learning as a way of making their own writing better.
Many students in the
class have really enjoyed the experience of having Mr Best reading quite a few
Roald Dahl books to them this year and they are now borrowing the books for
themselves to read again. They have also
discovered that he has written several other books and they love them all!
