We’re well and truly over the half way mark of Term 3 and beginning to sniff the scent of holidays! 6A have fully immersed themselves in their learning this term and are engaged in some rather interesting topics. The best way to be in their last semester of primary school!
This term we’ve been learning about earthquakes in our Science unit. We read about the awful disaster that happened in Newcastle in 1989. Attached is a photo of a Seismometer, which is an instrument used by Seismologists to measure earthquake activity.
In English we’ve just begun our final unit for the year.  It is about writing Feature Articles with a focus on Animal Welfare and this week we started looking at the issue of bear farming in Asia.  This was quite disturbing and confronting, but it was comforting to know that there are organisations fighting to stop this cruel act.
In the land of Mathematics we’ve been playing chance games, and learning about expected and related frequencies. Our favourite game is ‘Cow Spotting’.
It’s certainly been a busy term and we look forward to making the most of each and every day at school. There’s always so much to learn!
