Curriculum

The curriculum at Bray Park is designed to offer your child the very best education possible.

Teachers at Bray Park State School embark on rigorous reflection to ensure that their classroom programs:

  • are connected to the real world

  • provide high intellectual quality

  • recognise differences in students and groups

  • are provided in a safe, supportive environment

Activities provided are purposeful and relevant, and are designed to stimulate action, reflection and enjoyment.  We aim to create learning experiences that connect with what students already know and then extend that knowledge through intellectually stimulating and challenging work.

As we continue through the 21st century, our teachers remain focused on grounding students with a sound understanding of the traditional basics whilst at the same time grappling with the need to prepare students for a future in a world that is rapidly changing.

Australian curriculum

The Australian Curriculum is being developed initially in the areas of english, mathematics, science and history, followed by geography, the arts and languages and the remaining learning areas focusing on economics and business, civics and citizenship, health and physical education, design and the technologies.

Education authorities around Australia are committed to supporting all young Australians to become successful learners, confident and creative individuals and active and informed citizens, whilst promoting equity and excellence in education.

In 2012, all Queensland state school teachers will implement the Australian Curriculum from prep to year 10 in english, mathematics and science.
