What have 5/6E been doing?

Throughout this term we have been learning how to evaluate and write news reports.  Through the use of a variety of language features we were able to write a response that evaluates how news reports represent ideas and events when trying to influencing an audience.
We have just finished our Science power point research assignments based around major volcanos around the world.  The children used their knowledge of volcanoes to give a thorough presentation.
In the past three weeks we have been working on measurement problems, studied how to read time tables, learnt how to find the area and perimeter of buildings, as well as learning how to find the sale price of items using percent.  The year fives have been busy discovering how to recognize different 3D shapes, how to draw them and how to create nets of different shapes.
This term the class have loved joining up with prep/1 E to do buddy reading every Friday.
