Talented Ladies

Mary and Maree with their painting.

Two of our Indigenous teacher aides, Maree Whiting and Mary Roginson, have recently discovered their hidden artistic talents and are creating wonderful pieces of Indigenous art.  They recently collaborated on a piece that was donated to the school for the 'Art at the Park' exhibition.  Tickets to win this painting are still available through the office and will be on sale at various school events.  The winner will be drawn at the end of term.

The ladies describe the meanings of the work in the following way:

The sun and the moon share our earth equally, as does all life.

The tree and all the living creatures upon earth are nurtured with water created by the rainbow serpent.

Water was created when the rainbow serpent slithered, slid and jumped to make tracks upon the earth that became rivers and waterholes.
