News from 3A

Thank goodness, summer is over because 3A is heating up the classroom with our Science learning. This term in Science, we are investigating different heat sources and how heat moves from one object to another. In small groups, we have been engaging in hands on activities investigating the difference in conductivity of materials. Our favourite activities have been identifying objects which produce heat at school and at home, as well as exploring ways to transfer heat from a primary heating source to a spoon.

Our biggest news is 3A has joined up with 3B to participate in Mathematics rotations in the newly established Mathematics Learning Centre every Monday and Friday. Some of the learning experiences we have participated in so far are shopping (calculating change),  constructing and measuring towers, board games, grid and coordinate games and identifying fractions. Thank you Mrs Speirs and Mr Hoisser for establishing the Mathematics Learning Centre. We think it is an awesome place to learn
