National Flag Day

At our school assembly in week 8 we celebrated National Flag Day, which is held each year on 3rd September because that was the day the flag was flown for the first time way back in 1901.

Students from 4B read a short speech explaining the three symbols on the National Flag - the Union Jack, the Federation Star and the Southern Cross.

Students from 4/5E, 4B, 2A, 1/2E, 1A, 1B and Prep B listened to a special presentation in the weeks leading up to National Flag Day, and they completed beautiful artwork which Mrs Hicks used to decorate the hall for the assembly.
