Lauren Adair, Budding Author

30/10/2015

Lauren Adair (Year 5) and Megan Hicks (Year 6) entered Write4Fun’s Read Write Repeat 2015 short story competition earlier this year.

Lauren and Megan have both been writing short stories for a couple of years.  Lauren was published last year on our school website for a very clever story in which she used her spelling words to write a story with rhyme, and Megan was a finalist in the Write4Fun competition in 2014.

Mrs Fitzgerald received notification of this year’s competition and encouraged Lauren to write a new story and enter, whereas the Hicks family have been entering this competition for a couple of years.  Whilst Megan and Lauren were not finalists or winners this year, their entries have been selected for publication in the Write4Fun 2016 book, which will be available for purchase in March 2016.  The links below will take you to the girls’ stories on the Write4Fun website.  Megan’s story is inspired by an event she read about regarding animal cruelty and the RSPCA, and Lauren’s story is engaging and entertaining read, with a lovely twist at the end.
