Year 1B have been investigating Aqua Dragons called Cryptobiosis,  This is similar to Sea Monkeys, the eggs coming alive once water is added.  These eggs can survive up to 20 years before immersed in water!
Aqua Dragons have three eyes and a pair of fins which they use to breathe, eat and swim (now that's multi-tasking!). The males have a mane on their heads, while the females often display a bulb on their backs.
They can live up to 6 months as long as the temperature, light and water conditions are right.  We have found that the Aqua Dragons are attracted to light and we have been using a torch to train them to do tricks.
We hope you enjoy our photographs.
