6B Scientists at work
6B have been exploring the wonderful world of micro-organisms.

We have discovered that yeast is a micro-organism used in bread making. It gives off a gas called carbon dioxide that makes bread rise.

We have also grown our own mould and found that mould grows best in a warm environment. We discovered that mould was studied by scientists who used it to develop important medicines.  These discoveries have saved many people’s lives over the last 80 years.
