1A Wrap-Up

This term 1A has been busy identifying how we use maths during our investigation time and exploring different mediums we could use to create different types of paintings.

We discovered we use maths everywhere.  We use it in shapes; making patterns; measuring the distance our aeroplanes and cars travel; measuring how high and wide our constructions were; adding; subtracting, identifying and comparing money values as we participated in the dramatic play shop; and in the art we created.

In the Art area, 1A learnt a new word, 'medium' and explored the different mediums we could use to create our painting masterpieces.  Some of the mediums we used were: shaving cream and glue to make fluffy paintings; wood and ochre to create natural clay earth paintings; vegetable oil to transform our pencil colourings into paintings; oil pastels to create oil paintings; marbles to create marble painting; and our favourite was water, food colouring and straws to create bubble painting.
