TUCKSHOP PROCEDURES

Tuckshop operates Monday to Friday 8.30am to 1.45pm
1st Break - 11am to 11.45am
2nd Break - 1.15pm to 1.45pm
All orders must be in by 9am

Our Tuckshop operates on a BAG SYSTEM. Please use a paper bag (NOT ENVELOPES), large enough to hold the contents of the order.

Label the bags clearly with :
  • Your child's name
  • Class
  • First Break or Second Break
  • The order
  • Prices and total cost
** Separate bags are required for each break.
** Please remember to send 2 bags when ordering hot food and cold drinks.
** Correct money is helpful and eliminates change being lost. If there is any change it will be taped to the front of the bag for Year 1 children and given to older children when orders are placed.
** Please send money with orders as we are unable to give credit. If money is not sufficient, the order will be substituted with other food.
** For safety reasons, please do not use staples on bags.

YEAR 1 CHILDREN - All orders should be placed in the appropriate lunch baskets in the classroom each morning. The baskets are then sent to the tuckshop for the orders to be filled.

CHILDREN IN YEARS 2-7 - Bring orders for both breaks to the tuckshop before 9am.

The lunch baskets are collected by an appointed student for each class just before each break.. If iceblocks are ordered, the bag will be circled in pen. the bag is then brought back to the tuckshop after the play bell to collect the iceblock.

Every effort is made to make sure your child receives what is ordered, however, if something is unavailable, an appropriate substitute will be offered.

Due to availability, prices and menu options are subject to change at any time. These changes are advertised in the newsletter. Please note the changes on your menu.

Please encourage your children to let us know immediately if there is a problem with their order, so we can fix it.

Due to the Health and Safety Act, we are unable to reheat food sent from home.

If there are special food requirements or you have any questions, please call the tuckshop and ask. If your child has a food allergy, please write a note in large letters on top of the bag, in case we need to use a substitute.

Children presenting $10 or more at the tuckshop will be required to report to Administration for approval. We have this policy in order to prevent unauthorised use. If you need to give your child a large note of $10 or more, please write a note to the convenor.

A variety of nutritious food is available. The tuckshop menu comes under the Smart Choices Healthy Food and Drink Strategy for Queensland Schools.

EMERGENCY REPLACEMENT LUNCH - If your child has forgotten/lost their lunch, a replacement lunch (vegemite sandwich, piece of fruit and Saos or ricecakes) can be arranged. The details of the lunch supplied will be sent home with the child. Prompt payment is required and appreciated the next tuckshop day.
