Dear Families,
Student Leaders Afternoon feedback:
Last Tuesday afternoon, Bray Park State School hosted the Pine Rivers Cluster Student Council meeting in which the school captains and vice captains meet with their counterparts from other schools to undertake leadership development activities. Bray Park’s topic focused on ‘teamwork’. A Dayboro parent sent an email to Ms Mauger with the following message – “ My daughter Emma tells me that the student leader cluster meeting today was one of the best ones all year. She said you were all very welcoming. Mr Hovey's activities were great fun, and all the Dayboro students really enjoyed it. They also loved the library”. It’s wonderful to hear such positive feedback and full marks go to all staff involved, and on a great standard set by Bray Park!
Facilities Updates:
Progress is being made on the new library and the refurbishment of the school assembly hall. A colour 3D drawing of what the projects will look like have been affixed to the front doors of the Administration Block. The P & C is funding the installation of compactus shelving for archiving of school and P & C documents in the room next to the bookshop. It is anticipated that this will be installed over the next few weeks. Over the next couple of weeks, there will be some advancements in the Lyn McKay playground. The scope of the works necessitates that it be done in stages. If any family wishes to make a donation towards improvement in the Lyn McKay playground, please do so. Over the years, Mrs McKay has made an outstanding contribution to students, staff and parents and the playground honours her contribution and dedication.
Brown built Shelving for tender:
If any families are interested in adjustable metal shelving, you are invited to submit a tender for these items. If interested, Mr Matheson (Schools Officer) can be contacted on 0410 498015. Please forward you tender in writing to The Principal, Bray Park State School and marked Confidential . Tenders close at 4.00 pm on Monday 26 October.
Requests for Class Placements 2010.
Parents and carers are advised to forward any specific requests for 2010 class placements in writing to the Principal by the end of this month. Though every effort is made to accommodate parent requests, it is sometimes not possible to do so. Schools take into account many factors when forming classes and in the placement of students. School enrolments and class
sizes determine the formation of classes and flexibility
in the placement of students.

Message from Bas: Be tolerant and understanding of others; Listen to the views of others without interrupting.

Successful Dance. Once again, the Bray Park State School community is to be congratulated on a very successful school dance last week. This is a true community effort and very rewarding for our children to assist them in their social development.

Events coming up:
Please keep an eye out for newsletters and class notices as there have been a few date changes to events.

Thought for the week: The manner of giving is worth more than the gift.
