The Learning Place is a state wide, online learning community for Education Queensland students and staff.

The Learning Place aims to support 21^st Century learning through facilitated projects and online events, which enable teachers and students to complete tasks individually and collaboratively in a safe online environment.

As part of the Smart Classrooms initiative, the Learning Place Community provides Blackboard virtual classrooms and Learning Place Communications Projects with forums, polls, chats and competitions all of which are teacher moderated. These closed communities require registered user names and password access, which are emailed to the individual members’ EQ webmail address and activated by the project coordinator.

By participating in these informal activities users increase and enhance their experience, confidence and interaction with ICT (information and communication technologies)
